FAQ: Cam Radio Net chooses NET COORDINATORS over a NET CONTROLLER. Seems to me that NET CONTROLS are going out of style these days. Most of the "round table" groups on 75 Meters are going "free style". Is it just a sign of the time or what ?? Why do we waste all this time and energy on "roll calls" or "73 rounds" ?? The A-TYPICAL 75 meter station has a pair of 3-500Z's idling away while the operator sits and waits for a 2 or 3 minute chance to speak. Meanwhile some fall asleep, some leave for other frequencies while most forget what they wanted to say, or the person they want to talk to has left due to a high level of boredom. The use of a COORDINATOR allows "free style" communications and introduces spontaneity. The net check-in stations have the chance to speak up and that generates and alert group that is not bound to "round table" rules. It simply is more fun !! No one gets upset on CAM RADIO if there is an occasional "double", the COORDINATOR simply asks for a repeat... We are all about having HAM RADIO FUN on the CAM RADIO NET...join us on 3820 KHz. |
